Dear All,

i received an email regarding the recent posts about subtle system
obsession among SYs:

"Treatments are a part of Sahaj. But I have found
footsoaking and balancing, shoebeating and ice pack
(for liver in summers - particularly in India as it is
a very hot country) necessary and sufficient for the
twelve months of the year.

This is particularly disappointing. However, no men
are created alike. Hence, the difference."

Yes, treatments are part of Sahaja Yoga .......... a small part
indeed and not what SYs, especially the Yuvashakti have made them
into. i am sure there are hundreds of horror stories similar to that
of Danny.

i know how disheartening, guilt-inducing and confusing these
'catching' experiences are since i was also a victim. i just never
understood the endless diseases that SYs kept detecting in
themselves and all others, especially those new to Sahaja Yoga. How
can one's subtle system become so sick when the Shakti within has
awakened the Mother Kundalini and pierced the Sahasrara, a process
that takes so many rebirths and is the ultimate and highest path
leading to moksa? And then we have to resort to lemons and chillies
for the rest of our lives to heal simple problems!!? It just made no
sense.

For me the worst was where the local 'leader', a long-established
SY, went around examining scars on the body - any old cut, wound,
gash, lesion or injury. The location of the scar indicated your
present problems. A neck scar meant a Vishuddhi catch, a two-decades-old cut on the forehead a sign of problems with Agnya, a herniated disk meant Shushumna nadi blockage ............... and what not.

i remember telling him after two years of treatments and footsoaking
that i have no more catches. He looked at me in disbelief and
announced his verdict to the collective: "There is no such thing as 'no catches'. You will always have catches."

A sinner like me, convicted by reason of physical injuries, had no
chance of being spiritually healthy ever. The (still) prevailing
mindset was that i will always remain catch-prone and sick according
to Sahaja Yoga subtle system diagnostic check-up. The only way to
stop catches would be to continue a daily ritual of footsoaks and
treatments for the rest of my life. (i believe his whole family
still religiously footsoaks and perform ritualistic treatments after
more than 20 years in Sahaja Yoga. This is just like taking all
sorts of medication for years and yet remain sick and diseased, with
no hope in sight.)

But i refused to believe such nonsense, especially after realizing
the ignorance of SYs regarding so many issues Shri Mataji spoke over
the years. i slowly realized why this was the case the world over.
The bloated egos of subtle system expertise just blinded them to all
other truths and topics the Adi Shakti raised ever since She opened
the Sahasrara Chakra. The subtle system was one subject SYs thought
they had the monopoly and impress upon all other seekers, including
ignorant fools like me. (i think it still has not sunk into them
that the subtle system is as irrelevant as the hundreds of yoga
teachers coaching tens of thousands in the same subject.)

But even though i stopped all footsoaking and treatments, leaving
everything to the Mother Kundalini, my wife continued these rituals.
At that time she was working the afternoon shift and came home
around 1.30 am. Without fail she would footsoak to rid herself of
all the catches, negativity and, perhaps, bhoots riding the
coattails of her fellow workers. After that there was meditation and
she finally went to bed around 2.30 or so in the morning.

This ritualistic conditioning learnt from the collective went on and
on and, knowing the discipline of my wife, knew she would not stop.
So i started by explaining to her that all these treatments are
unnecessary because the kundalini is infinitely more powerful than
all SY rituals put together. It took some weeks of coaxing before
her conditioned mind was ready to try what is generally regarded in
SY circles as taboo and tantamount to abandoning Shri Mataji's
teachings - no more ritualistic footsoaking and treatments.

She stopped footsoaking (and feeling guilty as well) and just asked
the Mother Kundalini to take care of the subtle system. And no more
ritualistic treatments.

That was about eight years ago. Till today she is free from all the
catches and sickly subtle system diseases that many SYs are famous
for, not that i envy them. i think they deserve being 'sick' for
mentally believing the 1001 reasons they will always catch. (That
list includes left-sided cats, scary spiders and bhootish bats.)

So those SYs who require daily shoebeating, footsoaking and other
treatments to remain catch-free and in balance please continue. But
please don't insist that others, especially those new to Sahaja
Yoga, must do the same. Please allow them to experiment and depend
solely on the Mother Kundalini to heal. Please do not prevent new
SYs from learning about the miraculous healing powers of kundalini.

Yes, treatments are a part of Sahaj but why do SYs remain sick
despite years? Well, those who regard a sneeze, cough, sniffle, burp
or gurgling stomach as a alarming sign of sickness requiring
immediate medical attention will always remain sick all their lives.
So will SYs living in this evil world, especially those with
hypersensitive subtle systems able to detect negativity in cats,
spiders and bats. But these SYs should just keep their ignorance to
themselves and i don't mean to bruise any egos.

Jai Shri Mataji,

jagbir

At last SY voices of reason and confession that may bring sense

Dear Avnish,

A "catch" is an imbalance. If during meditation we feel heat or
tingling, or maybe even numbness in our fingertips, it means that
our kundalini is alerting us to an imbalance in a particular chakra.
But this is not a disease as some SYs make it to be, just a minor
sneeze/hiccup/cough. If you take it seriously/feel guilty it _will_
subconciously become a problem that will be difficult to rid of.

So just go into meditation and in the _thoughtless state_ (very
important) put your attention where the catch is. Sustain that
thoughtless state and attention, and repeat until catch disappears.

After some practise you will rid of all your catches in meditation.
You will then advance and be able to rid of catches without
meditation i.e., with thoughtless attention only. This will happen
when you have sufficient faith and surrender that the Mother
Kundalini will take care of every subtle system problem. Then your
success rate will be 100% - i guarantee this!

So please DO NOT seek the help of chillies and lemons.

Hi Marilyn,

JSM !

You have put it very nicely and briefly what all
Sahaja Yogis should know.

Infact when our chakras take up problem of others and
we do not have an ego about it, we are helping our
beloved Mother in Her great task of clearing and
cleaning the creation. Many SYs have a wrong idea that
if there is anything wrong with you physically, they
have to keep away from you and some even go to the
ridiculous degree to feel that something is terribly
wrong if a Sahaja Yogi dies.

Love & regards,

from your sister in Mumbai,

Armaity.
